Soils in Prince Edward Island require regular liming to maintain an adequate soil pH. Keeping a balanced soil pH ensures proper utilization of fertilizer nutrients, and minimizes weed and moss invasion. Maintaining a proper soil pH is of even more importance with an organic program.
Lawns in PEI are also subject to compaction and thatch build-up. Annual core aeration helps to reduce this compaction and control thatch accumulation.
